I'm Grant MacPherson! I have a background in sculpture, art, architecture and design and construction, here on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. I've enjoyed large scale construction, but I've always had a love for well designed and built furniture - objects that define the highest level of finish. I'm thrilled to be opening my furniture studio for business. What inspires me? A lifetime spent in and around the ocean, sailing, surfing, and all the interesting crossover sports (are they sports?) that combine wind and water, these have always had an impact on my aesthetic. A really good surfboard will always look really good, even when its not in the water. I have a deep appreciation for those curves, and the stripped-down simplicity all great pieces of design exhibit. I hope that sensibility comes through in my work and I hope you enjoy these pieces as much as I do as I develop and produce them. I make all my current work myself in Victoria, BC, Canada.
